Meet Claudia (Super Girl!) and be inspired - 140 lbs lost so far....

Posted by Juan Ortiz on February 18, 2011 at 12:50 PM Comments comments (2)

I've come a long way. I was once 330 pounds. Today I am 190 pounds, 30 pounds away from my goal! I have been doing Juan’s classes since he started teaching Zumba. I started this trainer (Hardik Soni, he deserves to be named here lol) shortly after. I have been overweight since very young (7 years old).

Even though I had a happy life growing up, I still have suffered the consequences of being obese. You know, I wanted to fit in, part of society discriminated me, I wanted to wear certain clothes and I couldn’t, I felt embarrassed to show my body in a swimsuit, my self esteem was in the ground level, and of course I suffered from a severe depression.

My parents gave me everything they could possible give and provided me with treatments in and outside the country for my obesity. Nothing worked. I had a surgery to lose weight, didn’t worked. After the surgery, I realized there was no miracle. I think because I had so much pressure from society and family to lose the weight I could just not do it. I needed to want it for the right reasons; I needed to ask for help, I was the one who needed to start the process to become healthier. And that is what I did. I have my struggles, but with a good a balance in your life such as exercise and eating healthy, those struggles are easy to recover from.

On my process of losing weight, when I started to see results, I felt so good, and I liked the way I was getting in shape and the energy level I had. And what keeps me going is all these in addition of the great support I found. Without support it is very difficult. Juan’s classes brings me happiness, fills my time with fun, energy, and takes all my worries away for an hour. Juan’s class helps shape difficult parts of our body that are really hard to shape with weights. Feevha family definitely is great inspiration and motivates me to keep coming to the classes.

And I have to mention, my trainer changed me not just physically but mentally as well. I look at exercise differently and the eating as well. He pushed me to limits where I thought I could never go, and most importantly, he never gave up on me.

Fixing my weight is a dream I have had since I was very very young. I have lost so far 140 pounds, and I just need to lose 30 more. That is what keeps me going!

Guide to Bicycles

Posted by Juan Ortiz on May 23, 2009 at 12:40 AM Comments comments (1)

Hi, as u guys no i am a huge fan of Cycling, and on this week show i talked about the different kinds of bicycles u can buy.  The main ones are montainbikes, cyclin bikes and the hybrids. The main difference is the speed, the fastes one ofcourse is the cyclin bike, the hibrid is a mix between a performace bike and the mountain bike.  The key here is the more weigth u got on your bike the slower it will be.  If u live in teh city i recommend the hybrid.  That is the kind i own and i love it.  The skinny tires, the stif frame, the almost no wigth, and the handel bars me it the ideal all terrain bike.  Prices vary, from the lower hundres to thousands, but according to your budget a good bike can run u 5 to 8 hundred dollars.  If u guys got question about bikes or need some help just let me no, also don't 4get protection, a good helmet, some gloves, and padding for your crotch cause is gonna hurt, lolz, so enjoy

Juan, Tolerance

Posted by Juan Ortiz on April 20, 2009 at 6:23 PM Comments comments (0)

Well just a little something to think about.  Tolerance is to accept everyone not for the way they look, race, clolor, sexual inclination, gender, age, other phisical characteristics.  We should accept people for who they are and what they represent in our life. If we all just get along things can be so much better.  Just think about it guys.

LOL

Frankie's Review of the Haunting in Connecticut

Posted by Frankie on April 12, 2009 at 6:06 PM Comments comments (1)

The Haunting in Connecticut

Based on a true story, THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT charts one family's terrifying, real-life encounter with the dark forces of the supernatural.

When the Campbell family moves to upstate Connecticut, they soon learn that their charming Victorian home has a disturbing history: not only was the house a transformed funeral parlor where inconceivable acts occurred, but the owner's clairvoyant son Jonah served as a demonic messenger, providing a gateway for spiritual entities to crossover.

Now unspeakable terror awaits, when Jonah, the boy who communicated with the powerful dark forces of the supernatural, returns to unleash a new kind of horror on the innocent and unsuspecting family’s to be haunted.

Yesterday, I saw the movie and was expecting a big turnout. However, I was very disappointed.

It took forever to scare me and the music was the same thing every time.

I would give this movie a 2.5 out of 5
